Women in the Church of God Bibliography Updated

Dorcas Louiza Freeman Bowers

The first woman to receive a license to preach in the Church of God was Dorcas Freeman Bowers (seated with Bible). R. G. Spurling credentialed her about 1897 at the Piney Grove Christian Union.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center has updated our bibliography on Women in the Church of God located at http://cogheritage.org/index.php/bibliographies_index/page/women_in_the_church_of_god/. This selected bibliography includes books, dissertations, theses, articles, conference presentations, Pentecostal Theological Seminary senior papers, information files, audio and video interviews, and special collections. Information files and special collections include information on influential Church of God women who were or still are missionaries, evangelists, teachers, professors, etc. Interviews which Dr. Charles W. Conn and Dr. David G. Roebuck conducted are included within the collection of sources.
